SwiftConvert Frequently Asked Questions
Something missing? Get in touch.
Is SwiftConvert really free?
Yes. Every converter is free, without sign-up, quotas, watermarks, or paid tiers. Ads on some pages help cover hosting.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. You can verify in your browser's network tab — no file bytes ever leave your device.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no hard cap. Very large files are limited by the memory available to your browser tab.
Which formats are supported?
Images (JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, BMP), PDF, Word (.docx), plain text, Markdown, HTML, JSON, CSV, spreadsheets (XLSX/XLS/ODS), YAML, XML, audio (MP3/WAV/OGG/M4A/FLAC), and website ZIP archives.
Does SwiftConvert work offline?
After the page has loaded once, most converters continue to work without a network connection. Some future updates may add explicit PWA support.
Do you support .doc (old Word) files?
No. Modern .docx is supported; save your file as .docx in Word or open it in Google Docs and export as .docx.
Where can I report a bug or request a format?
Send a note via the Contact page.
